"Move Away to Make A Way".

newhair1I just arrived back in California today around noon. All I did today - aside from travel - was sleep, unpack and fall in love (more about that later). My trip home was nice, I saw just about everyone that I wanted to and spent a lot of time with my family. I also got my hair done on Christmas Eve (left), it is a lot darker, shorter, more choppy, and more bangs. I like it, it's good winter hair. Christmas was very fun, I got so many nice things - including Betsey Johnson luggage and the Coach Leather Sabrina in Pink. Maybe I will post some pictures later on this week!

Aside from all the festivities when I was home I realized a few things... 1) My DNA was not wired for a life in the mid-west. Ohio was good for me though, in the sense it gave me a place to nest and realize what else was out here in the world and how much I wanted to be part of something bigger. Which I am now! And forever will be, even if I have to move back to Ohio next year before moving to Philadelphia, which brings me to.... 2) If I did not get away from the life and the people I was surrounded with there I would have ended up either as bad, or worse off - both aren't options. 3) I didn't fit in, and this goes back to point #1, I am a little more eccentric than most people in rural Ohio and being around more open-minded and intelligent people is a huge plus. 4) I am not half as lonely as I make it sound, and I am happier here. 5) I miss my family, I love them despite how two-faced and ridiculous they may be. I love, love, love them all.

I feel like my life is just getting started and I think it will all work out fine for me. Dan thought so too, even if we only spoke for an hour.

Dan is the contractor from Phoenix I became infatuated with this morning. He was older, much older, but there was something about him I noticed when we were waiting in line to check in (aside from the designer jeans and Ed Hardy hat). Needless to say I was beyond excited to see that I was sitting next to him on the plane. I even stayed up the whole time despite how fucking tired I was because I was scared that I'd sleep with my mouth open. He spoke to me first and it was intense, lots of smiling and eye contact, he was beautiful and he totally knew I was hearting him (or I hope). I wanted so badly to make him give me his lovin' but even though he was sans wedding ring he was probably taken. He told me I didn't belong in Ohio, he originally being from Michigan, and he also said I was lovely... I haven't been this infatuated with someone so random since that stripper named Holli a few weeks back, she was fun.

Thank you Marc Jacobs Collection

marcj1

For this gorgeous Spring 2009 bag collection. I love the bright colors, purple and yellow being recent loves of mine. I have always fancied that sea foam/teal color. The satin and patent look amazing, I would love any of these bags, if I only I could afford one haha. The other bags were equally as impressive - black, cream, gold, bronze - you know I was loving it. I wasn,t as impressed with the shoes but I did heart the two below, especially the gold and purple one, and I loved the shape of the heels.

I have been doing well, and with lots of free time I have been e-window shopping. Once I save up money I want to go on a major shopping spree, but then again there are so many things I want to do when I save up my money. Germany trip is at the top, got to save up to move to Philly, random trips in Caliland, and summer always breaks me so I need to be careful. I've spent a lot on plane tickets this month, boo. Oh well, I get to go to Vegas for free :)

I ate at a Carl's Jr. today for the first time in years and it was absolutely delicious. The Six Dollar Burger is where it's at but that fucker is huge!

Los Angeles

Long post:

So I am very happy I moved here, very VERY happy.  I am adjusting to L.A. well - all the different people, the city, the hills (which I live in and which are gorgeous), the crazy driving... haha. I like it all a lot.

I left a week ago Sunday (the 7th) and had an awful journey. . . My first plane was supposed to leave at 7:45am so I was at the airport early already, got on the plane and at about 8:00am or so when we were going down the runway we suddenly stopped and the pilot said he wanted to check the computer one more time, whatever. About 15 minutes later we went back to the gate and then about 40 minutes after that a mechanic said the planes engine wasn't flyable. This was both a blessing and a curse. Blessing because I didn't die, curse because I went through living hell for the next 12 hours. I waited in line for and hour just to get a new flight to L.A. and my new flight upon receiving it didn't leave until 3:55pm... I also was informed by the blonde lady at the desk to go down and re-check in my bags. So I went all the way down to baggage claim to retrieved my bag. Waiting and watching people from my flight get there bags was making me pretty mad, because mine was no where to be found. After dicking around with the baggage people for 4 hours the said my bag was already on its way to L.A. I figured they were wrong but didn't know what else to do so I went to the gate and bought a salad that sucked and got on the plane. I was bumped up to first class which was cool, but I slept the whole way to Denver, probably with my mouth open. Once in Denver I had an hour to get to my other flight, would have been OK but my plane was a little late getting in and I was at gate 89B and had to be at gate 16B or 15B which was very far away. I pretty much jetted and got there just in time to board. That flight was horrible, the plane felt like it was going to fall out of the sky and the baby behind me was a nightmare. Alas I arrived to Los Angeles to find that my bag wasn't here and that my ride and I were at separate terminals. I did get my bag back, the next day, and I did find my ride.

Aside from that mess everything has been so much better than expected and I truly doubt I could be happier with any other family. They are amazing, and the kids are so good. The house is amazing, very big and the garden out back is so beautiful! There are palm trees, avocado trees, olive trees, strawberries, grapes, rosemary, mandarin oranges, and a whole bunch of other fruits n' such.  The neighbors have horses so that adds to it, also the view is to die for. We have an amazing view of the city!

I went to the mall today, and am going to another tomorrow. I bought two scarves - one at H&M and one at F21. I also found a perfect white tank to shred... as well as a whole bunch of bangles and bracelets, a few shirts, and some Sephora by OPI nailpolish in "Cab Fare" (yellow) it's very fun. There are so many more stores here... I found a shoe store that had really awesome shoes for cheap! They even had talon heeled shoes! And shoes that looked  like the new SP09 Ann Demeulemeester lace up sandal boots as well as many other semi knock offs. I even found a pair of black heels that were a near replica of my dream YSL tribal heel.

Oh and I quit smoking, I threw away my whole stash today. I'm nearly positive I  won't be able to quit for good but I may as well try.

Nancy Sinatra.

My most recent obsession. I love her music, style, that makeup, the whole package! And check out the picture of her from Vietnam in the 1960's on the far left, how cute is that?
